The GOA Region is located in Cook, DuPage, Lake, McHenry, Kane, and Kendall Counties, north, west and south of the city of Chicago. It is comprised of more than 80 communities in Northeastern Illinois with a diverse workforce and a dynamic mix of commercial, retail, industrial and financial businesses.
Here local government officials and state legislators care about business and GOA supports those that do. Our local officials are dedicated to work with the private sector to ensure that the economy continues to expand and diversify. Because of this, an aggressive entrepreneurial spirit pervades the entire region and then in part enriches our organization.
Culture is also an important part of our region. Live theater, world class shopping, professional sports, a variety of fine restaurants, parks, museums and art galleries draw thousands of people to the area yearly. Public and private elementary schools, high schools, colleges and universities in our region are ranked among the top in the state. All of this, plus two of the biggest airports in the Midwest, O’Hare International Airport and Midway Airport round out who we are and why this region still continues to grow.
